My name is Oudam. I’ve set up this blog to share tips and tactics to help readers monetize their blogs, drawing from over 15 years of experience as an internet entrepreneur. Since 1996 I have created and maintained over 80 web sites in a wide range of niches.
I went to school to study chemistry, hoping to one day become a researcher at an academic institution. But as the dot-com boom began to take shape in the mid-90s, I decided to switch course. Since earning my Master’s degree in medicinal chemistry from Purdue University in 1996, I’ve pursued many online businesses, including e-commerce, web design, internet marketing, and search engine optimization.
It has been a wonderful journey. While I don’t have a beachside mansion or Italian sports car to flaunt for my internet ventures, I have been able to make a good living exclusively on the internet for the last 15 years. My online business allows me to set my own hours and take my work anywhere I go. Besides the freedom and flexibility, I thoroughly enjoy my work, waking up every morning looking forward to get online.

I’m not going to tell you the “secrets to making $20,000 a month” spending just two hours a day on your blog. Blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme. I don’t want people to enter the business thinking they can rake in massive fortunes with only minimal effort. The internet is littered with thousands of would-be dot-com moguls who ended up as roadkill on the information superhighway.
Just like anything worthwhile in life, there is a learning curve involved. Blogging success takes time, patience, research, many trials and errors, and a lot of grunt work. Going into the business with unrealistic expectations is a sure-fire way to set yourself up for failure.
I hope to use this site to set the record straight on making money blogging, offering candid, practical tips, tactics, and ideas, drawing on my own experiences.
